Short Story

Rapping For Love

As J-Wall and his agents gathered around the cherry desk, they started discussing

plan for his new album. They talked about marketing plan and how they could make the

J-Wall had just struck a deal with Kanye West’s Good Music Record label and

quickly rose to the hip hop community. He is amazed with all the attention he is receiving

and is just soaking it all in. In a matter of days his self titled album aimed to the top of the

billboard charts and his fan base was growing quickly.

Everyone started shouting out places they think J-Wall should go.

“Lets go to China, lets go to Australia, lets go to Egypt, how about Alaska, someone

“We are not going to all those places”.

***

As J-Wall was sitting in his in is first class seat, on the 747 jet, he looked at his

blank I-Phone and saw his blemish-face, cappuccino skin complex and his Seattle

Mariners hat. The thought to himself, “I can’t believe I’m flying first class in Space Jam

11’s, going on tour across the world.”

He hit the call button to ask the stuartist for a glass of water. He needed it to take

what he called is knockout pills, seeing that this was his first time on an airplane and he

Once he got to china and started doing shows, Egypt, Australia, and Alaska

seemed to soar passed him. Until he got to Brazil. Once he got to Brazil he was

overwhelmed with thick humid air. All he was ready to do was go straight to the hotel and

relax and nap before he had to do his next performance.

After grabbing his bags, he started walking to the front of the airport. He then saw

a beautiful Brazilian woman holing a sign that read “James Wallace.” This woman was

milk chocolate brown skinned and tall with an athletic body shape. She had on a navy

blue skirt and a collard shirt as if she attended a catholic school. Her curly hair was held

in a bun, a loose one, like she had quickly wrapped it up and put a ball point pen in it.

“How was your flight Mr. Wallace,” said the beautiful brown skinned woman.

“Good I guess, I was asleep the entire flight,” answered J-Wall.

“I am so sorry to hear that, hopefully you have a great time at our hotel.”

“Well my name is Manon Smith and I will take you to your hotel room,” she said as

Manon held her hand out for J-Wall to shake. J-Wall shook her hand and kissed it. It felt

like the smooth skin of a new born baby.

“Let me get your bags for you Mr. Wallace” Manon said.

“No I got them,” he said as he picked up his bags.

“Oh no, please let me take them. I insist.”

“No, I got them. No beautiful lady like yourself should have to carry these heavy bags of

“Okay, well follow me then,” she said as was taking J-Wall to the Lincoln Town Car.

“So will you be staying at the beautiful and relaxing Don Resort here in Brazil,” she

“Yes I am. Is it as nice as you say?”

“Yes it is. It is in the heart of the city.”

“World Wide Magazine named us the Best Resort in the World,” she stated.

“Oh good. I am lucky to be staying here, and to have such a beautiful woman working

Manon blushed and turned red after J-Wall said that too her.

“Do you listen to rap music,” asked J-Wall.

“No I do not like that type of music.”

“Well how about you come to my concert tonight and maybe I can change your mind

“Hmmm.” She thought about it for a long second. “Okay, I’ll go.”

J-Wall handed her a backstage pass, gave Manon a hug, and went to his hotel suite to rest

***

After attending the concert, Manon immediately fell in love with J-Wall.

Everyday he was in Brazil the two went on a day and both of their feelings grew greater

for one another. On his last day in Brazil he woke up with Manon and told her how much

he was going to miss her. He also reminded her that his flight was going to leave at

12:45pm and it was already 10:30am.

J-Wall finished packing his bags and put them in the Lincoln Town Car. They

were both on their way to the airport. On the ride there, there was nothing but dead

silence in the car. It was the type of awkward silence when you want to say something

to the other person, but you just cannot find the words and you don’t know what to say.

A deaf person would be able to hear the car engine whine if they were in the car. Finally

they arrived at the airport. Manon got out the car and opened the door for J-Wall. He got

out, grabbed his bags out of the trunk, and then gave Manon a hug and a long kiss.
“Deep up out of here with me,” J-Wall whispered in Manon’s ear after the kiss.

Manon was so excited she answered before J-Wall could finish asking her. She jumped

into his arms and they both got on the plan coming back to Los Angeles, California in the

***

Once J-Wall and Manon arrived in Los Angeles, it wasn’t even 10minuets before

J-Wall got a call from Kanye West. Kanye told J-Wall that he and Manon had to go to the

Grammy Awards in 3 hours. In a hurry, the couple quickly rushed to J-Wall’s house in

Beverly Hills to get dressed. Even though they were in a rush, they had to dress nice

because the Red Carpet is where celebrity fashion gets highly judged. Once they were

ready they were picked up in a limo where they were greeted by the Good Music

Records’ family. Everyone in the limo was in amazement like they had just seen a ghost,

but exited as if they had just won the lottery. This was all due to how stunning J-Wall’s

girlfriend was. This was the first time that any of them had seen her. They had all laughed

because Kanye made a joke saying that J-Wall is ugly.

When they had arrived to the Red Carpet they all exited the limo. Usually Kanye

receives the most attention from the media because of his clothes and the woman that

brings, but not this time. As soon as J-Wall and Manon stepped out, they were instantly

swarmed by cameras and reporters. J-Wall was wearing a Members only jacket with a

Ralph Lauren polo. Seven jeans were on his legs with some Louis Vuitton shoes that were

designed by Kanye. He didn’t want to dress up, he wanted to look more urban styled. J-

Wall was soon interviewed by a young reporter named Sarah Bloomingburg.
“Hello J-Wall, I’m Sarah Bloomingburg from ABC 7.”

“Hi Sarah. I would like everyone out there to also meet my new girlfriend Manon

“In Brazil while I was on my world tour.”

Sarah kept talking to J-Wall while also being slightly rude to Manon. When he walked

away she screamed at the top of her lungs, “I am your number one fan!” J-Wall didn’t

turn around though. He acted as if he didn’t hear her.

***

Late at night the Grammy’s finally ended and J-Wall and Manon went to his

house to go get some rest. They both did not want to go to the after party. They were

exhausted from the long day that they had. Opening up the front door, J-Wall notice that

“What the hell are you doing in my house you weirdo,” he screamed at the top of his

“J-Wall, I am your biggest fan. I love you.”

It was Sarah Bloomingburg. She had somehow got into J-Wall’s house and waited for

Not answering his question she answered, “I Love you, I want to be with you J-Wall.”

Sarah not seeing Manon, J-Wall told her to go into the back of the house, hide, and get

“You need to leave my house now lady.”

“Why leave? We are a couple, you are my man.”

“No I am not. You need help lady.”

Sarah did not like that and pulled a knife out then forcing J-Wall up stairs. After tying

him up in a chair, she left the room to look for Manon. “Help,” screamed J-Wall for his

life. Outside Manon heard this and snuck into the house to untie him. Sarah soon caught

“Lady you need to leave now and put that knife down,” Manon said to Sarah.

“No, you need to leave my man alone tamp.”

After saying that, Sarah rushed at Manon holding the knife in her hand. Running

as fast as she can she try to stab and kill Manon so that she could have J-Wall all for

herself. Sarah looked as if she was a bat out of hell with her red eyes, all black clothes,

short black hair, and saliva hanging down from her mouth. At the last minute Manon

dropped to the floor tripping Sarah. Sarah fell out of the large glass window and fell into

the middle of the street where she got ran over by a car two minutes later. The driver

thought that he killed Sarah, but J-Wall and Manon told the man what happened. They

called the ambulance and then everything was safe.

Once the situation died down J-Wall and Manon decided to go to a hotel for the

night. They were so tired that once they got into their small suite they both went right to

sleep as if they had taken some of J-Wall’s Knockout Pills.

autobigraphy

My name is Jamie Taylor Harper. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. My date of birth is July 26th, 1993 which makes me 17 years old. My mother’s name is Cherie Harper, my father’s name is Shawn Harper Sr., and my older brother’s name is Shawn Harper Jr. When I was younger I always wanted to be like my older brother. He played a game that I would later have a great love for and cherish. This game was basketball. At first I only played it because he was, and I wanted to do everything that he did. Later in my young life I grew love and passion for this game. Basketball is my life and I love everything about it. It makes me feel good.
The Elementary School I attended was called Brentwood Science Magnet. I went there with my brother for two years, since he is three years older than me. At that school I made friends, but none I would keep past those five years there. I was pretty popular at that school because I was the best basketball player by far. From there I went to the Middle School, New West Charter. I didn’t want to go there but my mom forced me. I wanted to attend Palms Middle School. In Middle School I had a good three years there, and remained in the popular crowd.
Then it was time to go to high school. I have attended three high schools. The first school I went to was University High School. I went there for two years. I played basketball for them because my love for the game began to grow. I wasn’t very popular when I was a freshman but that is because I came into the school knowing very few people. But as time went on I started knowing more and more people since I hung out with all older people. By the time I got to the tenth grade, more people knew me than I knew at the school. I started to have problems with the basketball coach there. He started benching me and taking away playing time from me. Till the day I die I still won’t know why he did that. I was one of the best players on the team too. It cost him many games too. I got benched for a Facebook status I posted after a game. I don’t even know how he saw it since my profile is blocked to people who are not my friend. He wasn’t going to help me get into college for basketball so I decided to leave.
I decided to go to Inglewood High School. When I would see Inglewood High, I would always say, “I am never going to that school.” I found that funny that I ended up going there and playing basketball for them. Transferring to Inglewood I only knew two people, and I didn’t know them very well. I made friends pretty quick and met more people as the school year went on. When I told people I came from University High School they would ask why I switched, I told them for basketball. They would then think I wasn’t very good because University wasn’t a basketball school and good players don’t come out of there. I wouldn’t argue with them, I just waited for a chance to show them. When the basketball season started and people saw that I was good, I got a whole new respect. There are still people who hated on me for whatever reason, but they inspired me. From there, I then transferred to City Honors High School, but I could still play for Inglewood which was good.
When I was 7 I had my tonsils taken out because they were infected. This was a big surgery for me and at the time I was very scared. I didn’t want to have it done, but it was affecting me very much. I also had something in my nose taken out that I still don’t know what it was. I do know that both things were affecting my breathing greatly. I also had bad asthma at that age so having those 3 problems was not going well for me. After the surgery was done I did see major improvement. As I grew older I grew out of my asthma. I still have it, but it is not bad at all and barely comes up. When I would get sick, before I grew out of it, the asthma would take over my body and I could barely breathe a lot. I would miss a lot of school because of this.
School is very important to my parents, mostly my mother. She expected for me to get good grades. But me being competitive, I would never want anything to be bad because I felt I could do just as good as the so called “smart kids” in the class. I tried to stay getting A’s and B’s. My 11th grade year I maintained a 4.0 GPA both semesters. My parents were very proud of me. I still always wondered why they don’t push up grades to my brother because he always brought C’s home. Getting good grades I knew would help me for my future because I know I want it to be the best it could possibly be.
When I turned 17 I started to think more about my future and the person I was and who I wanted to be. I knew I had to change my ways. I started to work harder in the things that I did. I also started reading the Bible on my own time. I knew the person I wanted to be, I just needed something to help me mold myself into that person. I got help from my best friend, Darien Whitman, which I met while I was at University High School. He wanted to change and get more serious too. It was much easier knowing I had someone to help me and check up on me, and I would do the same for him. He would also help me workout since he loved basketball too.
As I’ve been told I come off as cocky. I never have seen it and deny it, but it is some things you can’t change. I have made remarks that are cocky, but when I said them I was just playing around.  I still do it sometimes but not often. I tried to stop been seen as cocky, but people still say it. I think it is just confidence. When people ask me if I good in basketball I would say duh, but now I just say “I guess so.” I would rather show people then tell them. I don’t like to “gas myself up” because staying humble keeps me in my place. And that is where I need to be. I like when people talk about me in a negative way because I makes me work harder to perfect that area.
Working hard and not taking the easy way out is the way I do everything. I have never been the person that would win free things. I would always have to work hard to buy them, or work hard to win it. Raffles, drawings, meaningless games, bets, never won those. It is alright with me though because I know all the hard work I put in won’t be wasted in the future. My favorite quote of all time, and that I live by is by Robert Frost. “Two roads diverged in a wood and I-- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.”

Reflection

My time in this creative writing class i have been able to get all my thoughts out in my writing. I have learned how to not just write one way, but how to write many different ways, and to create my own writing style. I have learned alot, and this class has helped me become a better writer. I will miss having this class, and i will consider taking a writing class in college, and may continue to post on my blog to get all my thoughts out on certain topics.

Child Labor

Child Labor is a serious issue. Children at a very young age are being used to make people rich. It isn't good for their health, or their future. Children are the future of the world that we live in today. Why not help them so our world can continue to flourish? Why instead we use them for our own satisfaction? Many top companies Like Nike and Apple. Eventhough I like both Nike and Apple, I believe that they should use children to make them rich.

Smokers??

I believe that it is a good idea to ban all smoking from restaurants and bars, because those who smoke are affecting the healthy lungs of those whom do not smoke. From smoking in restaurants and bars the people around the smokers can develop second hand smoke. Their life can be changed drastically by causing someone who had perfectly healthy lungs to have asthma, bronchitis, colds, pneumonia, and other lung diseases. Secondhand smoke is the third leading preventable cause of disability and early death in the United States. For every eight smokers who die from smoking, one innocent bystander dies from secondhand smoke. It is an issue that could have been avoided by simply banning smoking from inside a restaurant or bar.
You cannot force anyone to stop something they do not want to do. You can also not ban smoking because it will them become concealed like marijuana, since it is illegal, or the prohibition era when alcohol was ban. Many speakeasies, an underground establishment, were created so that people can still get alcoholic drinks illegally. It will be nearly impossible to stop all smokers from smoking. The best resolution would be to have the smoking section outside!
When someone smokes in an enclosed area all of the smoke stays accumulated together and grows. The smoke then begins to cover the whole room. Between 70% and 90% of non-smokers in the American population, children and adults, are regularly exposed to secondhand smoke. It is estimated that only 15% of cigarette smoke gets inhaled by the smoker. The remaining 85% lingers in the air for everyone to breathe. If a person spends more than two hours in a room where someone is smoking, the nonsmoker inhales the equivalent of four cigarettes.
Although there are smoking areas, if it is indoors it will spread into the non- smoking area. If they have all the smoking areas outside the wind will blow the smoke away. Also the areas between the smoking and non- smoking sections are sometimes close together. So the smoke can still bother those who are in the non- smoking section. I agree to ban smoking in restaurants and bars but it’s a violation to the freedom of humans. So the best thing to do is move the smoking section outside and away from everyone.

descriptive place

Is the back better than the front? Is the back easier to sit than the front? Why do

people prefer to sit in the back seat than the front? As children we all wanted to sit in the

front seat of the car because it gave us power. Yelling out "shotgun," or running to the

front seat, put us in authority of the ones that were forced to sit in the back. Why is it that

when you get into a higher power in society you, don’t sit in the front anymore? The back

means that you have the power over everything. But what is so good about the back to

make the person want to keep sitting there? It must have something that the front doesn’t.

When I sit in the soft cushion seats, I feel as if I am sitting on a couch. If no one

is sitting next to me I get more space and can layout. Feeling like pure gold, king of it

all, cool breeze blowing in my face, I sit or lay back while I am taken to my destination.

An extra purple hand, that holds tight the refreshment that quenches my dehydration,

lies right in the reach of my tired arms. It turns my water into juice. The same way water

turns into a really tasty drink when you are physically exhausted and fatigue. I am also

able to feast while lying down without having to worry about distracting myself from

keeping my passengers safe. Sitting in the rear, I have a small paradise that sits there

just for me. As I hear the engine roaring, I just put my iPod in my ear and I am able to

see myself in a miniature Hawaiian vacation. The engine mixed with my music makes a

sound of waves, which is very relaxing.

Tunnel vision is never an option. Spotless, inviting glass windows let me view

the scenery of beautiful mother-nature. I don't only have just one vantage point though. I

have one on each side, one at each diagonal, a large one in front of me, and a large view

of the rear if I turn around. When I enter the back seat, I get a taste of gummy worms and

a strawberry melon brisk. The back is truly the best place to be if you are sitting in a car.

google or yahoo?

Google or Yahoo?

The two search engines Google.com and Yahoo.com are two of the most popular search

engines around the world. These two search engines have quite a few in common. Both engines

allow you to view millions of pictures that are on the internet. You can view and download

pictures that are on any other website from just typing in the name of what you want to see. They

both also allow you to view videos from all over the internet. Most of the videos come from

the website youtube.com, but others come from websites all around the world. Both sites also

offer a news search where you can find the latest news from around the world. They also have

a shopping option, auto option, and financing. Other than the ability to type in anything in the

search box to find what you are looking for, both websites offer emailing. You can obtain both

an email address from Yahoo.com and Google.com. Having an email address from both of these

two, it automatically gives you an instant messaging username. With instant messaging you can

communicate with friends and family with just typing a message and pushing enter.

As much as both search engines offer, they also have things that separate them from each

other. Google gives the user the ability to view the world. You can look at maps and see cities all

across the world. You can get directions to places that you need to go, and you can also see them

in a 3D view as how you would see the world in person. Google Earth allows the user to see the

entire planet. Google Docs allows someone to create word documents, presentations, and

spreadsheets online. You can save them and come back to your work at anytime. Google has

instant links to Blogger.com and Youtube.com. If you are on the go and you need to use any of

these tools, Google has a mobile option for your phone. If you have one of the latest phones, like

an Iphone or Blackberry, you can have Google Earth, Google Maps, Blogger, and all the other

applications that Google has to offer plus the regular search options. You can also video chat

with people using Google Talk.
Yahoo offers things that Google doesn’t. At Yahoo.com you can get the latest sports

updates and see how your favorite teams and players are doing. Using Yahoo, you have instant

access to games, the dating website Match.com, Netflix, University of Phoenix, and a tool that

allows you to look for jobs that are on the market. For those people that are interested in it, you

can look at your horoscope. You can see what the stars have in store for you and your personal

life. If you like to share your photos, there is a direct link to Flickr where you can put your

photographs on the internet for the world to see. Yahoo also offers a very popular movie search

that many people use all the time. You can read movie reviews, view movie trailers, buy movie

tickets, see what movies are coming out soon, and what movies are already out on DVD.

The two popular search engines Google and Yahoo both have characteristics and features

about them that separate them, and make them equal at the same time. Picking one to use is based

upon which one fits your needs and is more comfortable for you to use.

Wanting Something

Why are things that you want, so hard to get. I think this is because these things require you to put hard work out, in order to get it. For me, I want a basketball scholarship and it isnt easy to obtain. I know i have to work really hard and perform my best in the game.

Time

Time is everything
time is power
it can bring joy
every second minuet or hour

time can bring pain
or heal it very slowly
it will bring out truth
if it  passes long enough

as been said time is money
that's what everyone wants
more of it you will get
unless you used your time to quite

great use of time, is how you get
those memories years later
of a time well spent

Comparative Analysis

Both plays that we viewed seemed that they were not only made to entertain the audience and treat them with a good, viewable show. I believe that the two plays were made to inform the audience about problems that people went through at some stage in American history. These both have to do with problems that American women endured. However, For Colored Girls was solely about women of color and what they endured after the Vietnam War. These hardships included pregnancies and child abuse, both of which were an effect of unstable Black men. This play took place in New York. The other play, which took place in Chicago in the 1920’s, was about women in general, but in that time period the main group women that were considered were White women. Therefore, this play consisted of White women. It focused on the trials that they had to bear, which included inequality and suffrage. Both plays are informative and capable of forcing people to acknowledge

Computers, Students

Some educators believe that every child in every school should have access to computers. Others believe that the value of computers in the classroom is overrated and that computers may actually interfere with the learning process. In my opinion, I believe it is very important that computers should be in the classroom, or have a computer room for all the students. Technology is what people need now and days and help with many things. Students can do research on the computers from what a teacher may have assigned to them for a project. It is a really good resource for all students from middle school to college. I believe all those ages in school should have access to computers at school and even at home for their homework (if needed).
Daily technology use in core subject-area classes, frequent technology use in intervention courses, and a low student-to-computer ratio can play a critical role in reducing dropout rates. A federal investment in mobile computers for every child would pay huge dividends with the national productivity. Technology is an investment, not an expense. About almost fifty percent of all schools would say their dropout rates are going down, but for schools that have implemented a program called one to one computing programs, that figure is about fifty-eight percent. For schools that are implementing one to one programs effectively, employing strategies such as regular formative assessment and frequent teacher collaboration, that figure jumps to about eighty percent. A one to one computing is giving a student a Mac or Windows laptop. This really helps students not to dropout of school. The difference in lifetime tax revenues between a dropout and a college graduate is approximately two hundred thousand dollars. Schools with a one to one student-to-computer ratio are cutting the dropout rate and reaping this broader benefit.
There were 3.7 million-seventh graders in the United States public schools in fall 2007, according to the Education Department’s most recent Digest of Education Statistics. If the federal government spent four hundred dollars to supply each seventh grader with a mobile computing device, and then did this for every subsequent class of seventh graders, the cost would be about 1.5 billion dollars per year. The high school graduation rate of the United States students has ranged from seventy-one percent to seventy-four percent for the last decade. A rate of seventy-four percent means nine hundred sixty-two of the seventh graders from 2007 likely will not graduate. If just one-tenth of these potential dropouts were actually to finish school and go on to college, that would result in ninety-six thousand two hundred more college graduates and about nineteen billion dollars more in tax revenues over the next forty years.
Yes, this is a hypothetical scenario that relies on a few assumptions. The first being that the lower dropout rates in schools with one to one computing programs are a result of these programs and not some other factor. I believe this will work, keeping kids into school. I believe the educators that argue that every child in every school should have access to computers is correct.

Lunch with famous person

If I could ahve luinch with a famous person, I would have lunch with Kobe Bryant. He is my all time favorite basketball player. I would just talk to him about the thing that we both passionatley love, basketball. I would ask all the different obstacles that he had to overcome becoming a great basketball player. I grew up watching Kobe Bryant and I would love to talk about how basketball changed his life and how it helped him in his life.

Winter

My favorite season is the winter. the winter is my favorite season because I can get warm. I can put on as many sweaters as I want to get warm unlike the summer where it is so hard to get cool. I love the winter because the days are so gloomy and chill. The rain relaxes me. I love the winter. I love the cold. I love the fact that I have the option of being warm or cold.

Moon

I would visit the moon because I would love to see how it feels to be in outer space. I want to feel accomplished becuse I went to the moon. I want to see the difference from standing on the ground and standing on the moon. The stars, all of the beautiful aspects of a world that we have no idea about besides pictures. I would love to visit the moon.

Superpower

If I could choose a superpower I would want to fly or I would want to be able a persons mind. I would want to fly because I could get away whenever I wanted. I wouldn't have to worry about anything or anyone because I could leave. Just fly away... I would want to read people's minds because I want to be able to see what people really think about and I know I will not feel bad.

Something I won

Something I won is All Ocean league 1st team last year, playing basketball for inglewood high school. I won this for working really hard and playing very well. i hope to win this award this year, along with others.

Sandwich

My new sandwich would be made out of chicken. The chicken would have green pepper and onion. It would be tomato sauce cooked. It would be really good. Then you would get mayonnaise and spread it on a bread that has been shredded cheese grilled on it. You would put avocado on it and then you would bring the bead together and then you would eat it.

20ft

If I was twenty tall I would be above the world. I would love to see how a bird sees from up above.. The only thing that I do not want to be is big because I do not want to squish anybody while I am walking. I hope that everybody can accept me for who I am. I want to be able to still have friends and everybody did not act different.

Doctor

If I was a doctor I would be the doctor that would study the different types of blood types. I want to see the different types of diseases. I want to help find the cure for different diseases. I want to be able to help people with their problems with their blood. The job would consist of me drawing blood from different people and then I would study the blood to see if there is anything wrong with them to see if everything is normal. I want to be able to study and probably see any type of altercations.

Do you remember?

Do you remember when you didn't know 2+2 was 4?
Do you remember when you had to tell your mom somebody was at the door?
Do you remember when it was fun sleeping on the floor?
Man, Haha, I only did that when I was bored.
I remember all the times I ran up those stairs..
My mom was getting ready to pull my hair
Getting in trouble because I dodged my dad every time I had to stop playing.
Laughing with my friends because I was daydreaming.
Man, do you remember daydreaming about having icecream after school?
Do you remember when everybody was cool?
Do you remember when all you dreamt about was that during the whole summer, you can swim in a pool?
I remember when I fell off a stool.
Haha, I was such a fool.
Do you remember all of your child hood days?
To me, it is all becoming a daze,
But I will try to remember those beautiful days.
Do you remember?

Cooking

If I could cook one meal for my family it would be breakfast. They love it when I cook breakfast. I usually make my specialty, omelettes. It took me a while before I actually got the hang of cooking omelettes but now I can say, that they are pretty good. I start off with taking all the ingredients that I need. I take out the eggs, ham, cheese, onions, bell pepper, salt, tomato, and pepper. I take out the pan and a bowl. I put the pan on the stove and take the bowl to the counter. I start chopping the ham, onions, bell pepper and tomato up and put them in the bowl. I crack two eggs in the bowl, pour some salt and pepper in there, take a fork and start mixing it all together. Once I am done mixing it all together, I turn on the stove and pour a little oil on the pan. Once its ready, I pour the battered eggs onto the pan. I let it sit there for a minute or two and then I flip it like a pancake. I put the cheese on one side of the omelette so it can start to melt. Then once I think it is ready, I bend one side of the omelette so it can look like a taco. I take it off the pan and put it on a plate. My family enjoy those omlettes with toast.

How To Tie Your Shoes

Tying ones' shoes is a daily routine that we all go through everyday of our lives from the time that we are about 3, to the time that we physically can't do it anymore. At a very early age, we are taught how to tie our shoes. This is like before or by the time we start going to school. Some kids learn it in school and others learn to do it at home. Some people try to avoid doing this by buying Velcro shoes. At some point in their lifetime, they are going to wear shoes that require them.
The first step in tying your shoes is too first put the shoes on.  Before doing so, you have to pick the shoes you want to wear and put socks on each feet (as many pair of socks as you desire). When putting the shoes on, you have to put the right shoe on the right foot, and the left shoe on the left foot. Wiggle your foot around inside the shoe as if you were searching for the perfect spot on the couch, to find that comfortable feel for your foot. After doing this with both feet, it is time to move on to the next step.
Before you can actually start tying the shoe, you have to tighten the shoe up. To do this you must pull on the strings, starting from the bottom of the shoe. You pull from the sides where the string goes through the whole. It's like you are putting on a lot of seat belts to keep your feet safe during the ride. When you get to the top of the shoe, you will

see that the end of the string is not laced in the shoe. This is where you tie your shoes. Pick a shoe, right or left, and on that shoe hold the two separate strings in each hand. Hold the stings up and cross the stings over each other. You will see a hole in the middle. Put one of the strings through the whole while keeping the strings crossed. Then pull the strings so the middle of them lay on the tongue on the shoe. Now make a loop with both strings individually. The loops should look and remind you of bunny rabbit ears. While holding the looped stings( the rabbit’s ears), wrap one around the other. Once you do this you will see another hole. The loop that you used to wrap, place it through the hole. Now go back a couple steps from where you tighten your shoe starting from the bottom of it, repeat all the step from then on, the other shoe that is not tied. Now you have your shoes on and tied. After doing this again memorizing the steps, I guarantee that you will never forget how to tie you shoes again.
After completing these steps you will be on your way to learning how to tie shoes. Whenever your shoes become untied or you put new ones on, you will be prepared. Knowing how to tie your shoes doesn’t limit you to only wearing Velcro-Strapped Shoes. You can pick any type of shoe and wear it on your foot comfortably. As long as you follow these exact steps, the next time you want to put your shoes on and go somewhere, you will know what to do. You won't ever have to worry about stepping on your own laces, possibly tripping, and embarrassing yourself.

Compare and Contrast College

Colgate University or Dillard University
Colgate University and Dillard University are four year universities that both have similarities and differences. Colgate University first separates itself from Dillard because it is located in the city of Hamilton in the state of New York. Located in this part of New York, Colgate is surrounded by great beautiful views to be enjoyed by the students, staff, and visitors to the school. 2,900 students are enrolled at the university. This is not a lot of students. Some high schools have close to this amount. This is why the average class size at the university is 19 students. The students that are enrolled at the school have 51 majors to choose from, along with 13 minors. The 2,900 students that are enrolled in the school also make up the 175 plus clubs at Colgate. Joining a club is a great way to be sociable, have fun or try something new, and you may be able to make a difference in some way. If you are physically talented, Colgate University has 25 Division 1 Varsity teams. They are in the Patriot League along with other schools such as Navy, Lafayette, and other schools. Adonal Foyle, a basketball star at Colgate University, played 13 seasons in the NBA, and just recently retired. Attending Colgate, not having a scholarship of some sort, is pricey. A freshman attending Colgate during the 2010-2011 school year would have to pay a total of about $54,000. This includes Tuition, student activity fee, housing, the meal plan, and an estimate of personal expenses plus books. Although it is not the cheapest school, you will get a very good education and college experience attending Colgate University.
The first thing that separates Dillard University from Colgate University is that Dillard is located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Another major thing that separates the two schools is that Dillard University is a historically black college. Because of the big natural disaster caused by Hurricane Katrina, the school got remodeled. It is practically new. They are still rebuilding the school until the entire school is fully finished. The total number of students enrolled at Dillard University is 1,011. This is a very small number. The average class size at this school is 20 students to a class. The amount of students not being great at all makes the student to faculty ratio 11 to 1, which is very good. Dillard University has 21 majors for students to choose from. Whatever you can major in, you can minor in, except mathematics where that is only a minor option. Dillard University is a lot cheaper than Colgate University. The total amount is about $22,670 that one would have to pay. This includes tuition, room and board, and average additional fees. Dillard is not in the NCAA like Colgate, neither do they have Division 1 sports. Dillard University has Division 2 sports, and they belong to the NAIA(National Assiociation of Intercollegiate Athletics). Dillard University is smaller, more affordable, and not as good athletically, but you can still get a great education and have the chance to play sports against top competition around the country.
Although the two schools have their differences that make one stand out from the other, they also have their similarities. Both schools are privet four year universities. Both colleges are also liberal art schools. Both schools has clubs and organizations for students to join and be a part of. Both schools offers awards and scholarships to help their students pay for their tuition along with other fees the student may have. Dillard and Colgate also give out athletic scholarships for those student athletes that work hard in the classroom, and are good enough to compete at the college level. The universities have very nice campuses and a lot going on in each. Choosing to attend one of these schools may be difficult, or may be easy, but that is for the student to decide.

My religious views are from a christian point of view. I believe that Jesus Christ is the lord and savior and I accept him as just that. I believe that the bad things in life are not ment to punish a person, I believe that God uses bad experiences the teach an important lesson to an Individual. I've come to learn in the short life that I have lived so far, that truely believing and having no doubts through thick and thin is one of the most important things in life. Engaging myself in this culture plays a really important part of my life. I don't go to church as much as I should, but I do read my bible and go to sessions after school. I try to pattern my life around the bible and change the type of person I am. I believe that reading the bible and knowing what I have to do, makes me more responsible for my actions compared to a person that doesn't know. I believe this because God knows that I know what I have to do and how I should treat myself and other people, so I have no excuse not to. I know that no one person can change the world, it is almost impossible. But I do believe if you make change to yourself and pass it on to someone close to you that you feel can use change, the world can change if everyone passes it on. One person can't bring a big change, but that one person can make a difference that will lead to change. Whether it is in the world, your city, or a person's community, anything is possible. This plays in my life because I am in the process of getting everything passed to me and I know I have a person in mind that I can pass it to.

I am an African American, and during holiday season, fall and winter, family is a big deal. During these two seasons I see all parts of my family that I never see on a daily basis. The only time I ever get to see them is during this time. Even through I have two different sides, my mother's side is the only side that contains tradition. On thanksgiving I see my mother's side of the family. This tradition started not too long ago. 3years ago I never saw or talked to my grandfather before. my mother thought I should meet him, so on Thanksgiving we too a total five hour plane journy to North Carolina to see him. Having such a good time, we decided to do it every year. Every year it gets better and better and it makes me want to go back next Thanksgiving. All of my cousins on my mother's side of the family flies out there with us. It makes it that much better because I get to expericence a different place with new people and also the people I see more often. My grandfather looks forward to seeing me every year. Many people feel that American Society is too competitive. Do you agree? If so, is this a good thing or a bad thing?

American Society today is a race to be on top. People do what they have to do to "make it." "Make it" meaning be very sucessful in their future life down the road. Basically that person living the American Dream. Every person in American wants this dream, and that is why it is a very competative society that we live in. I think that everyone can and should agree that American society is very competative. I don't think this is a bad thing though. People have the drive and they want to do good in life. College is probably the key to having a sucessful life in the future. More and more people are finding this out, and more and more people are trying to go to college now. Colleges have had to raise the cost of tuition because of the number of students they have now. It is also harder to get into these universities/institutions because of the very high number of applicants. Now people have to do not their best, but better than that in high school, if they want to go to their college of choice. Students are not just competing in their own high school, they are competing with students in other high schools, in other states around the country, and even students in other countries around the world. We don't just live in a competative society, we live in a competative world. Everything is a race, challenge, war, or some type of competition in everything that we do. You must turn your good into great, and make your better into your best if you want to win in this world.

Many People volunteer their time to help others, either through non-profit organizations, churches, or other charitable venues. Write an essay convincing readers to find a charity and volunteer their time.

My older relatives and all of my elders have always told me that is is better to give than to receive. They also tell me when you help someone out and you know you are doing it, you get more than what you put out. You get the feeling knowing that you made a positive difference in someones' life. I never believed them at first. I just always thought that they were just saying that trying to get me to volunteer my sweet time. I thought that the things I were doing were a lot more important. I was very blind. I was tired of hearing these people's mouth so one day I decided that I would volunteer my time. I helped out small homeless children. I helped them play basketball and I played games with them. I only had to do it for 3 hours. Afterwards when I got home and thought about everything that night, I felt very good. I just put a smile on a kid's face, and made him or her very happy. It put a smile on my face that night.
I really advise the reader of this to go out and volunteer their time. It may be boring what you have to do, and you may really not want to do it but I promise you that it is really worth it. It will give you the best feeling in the world. Only good things can come from giving your time and helping others in need of it.
