Describe a major environmental problem and what you believe should be done about it

One major environmental problem that we should be really careful about is water scarcity. As much as people would like to think that it is just impossible to run out of water, they are very wrong. Water scarcity has become such a big issue that goes global and affects everyone everywhere. The problem is that we use more water than what is actually returned to the freshwater systems. The USA is one of the large water consuming areas, and given that we live in the US, we are a part of the problem. To help lessen and solve this problem, there are plenty of things people can do on a daily basis. Simple things such as taking five minute showers as opposed to a twenty minute showers, or while washing in the shower, turn the water off until you’re ready to rinse, or when washing dishes, run some water on one side of the sink with soap and use that to wash the dishes, then rinse them all at once so you don’t have to keep the water running and waste it, and even just making sure when you turn off the water, it’s completely turned off and there are no drops running from your nozzle. All those little droplets of water definitely add up. If you have trouble with things like the dripping water or shortening your showers, you can try methods like tightening the nozzle and having a timer to tell you when five minutes is up. Easy right?
