meaning of diversity
Diversity is having more than one culture around in an area. That area can be as small as a school, or as big as a country being diverse. In california schools are very diverse. Even though with the exception of certain school where it is mostly white, or asian, or black and hispanic, most schools in the state of California are very diverse. They have blacks, whites, hispanics, asians, middle eastern people, pacific islanders, italians, and more. In the schools that are really diverse, all the students get along. The United States of America is a very diverse country. People from all around the world come to the United States of America to live and start new lives here. If they don't start a new life, they just come to visit. Even though this country is among the most diverse in the world, it still has a lot of racism. Being more diverse brings a lot of more discriminating and prejudice in the country. People try to say they don't do it and that they do not think that way, but in reality they do. Diversity is a good thing though. It brings more culture. It opens new doors and gives more opportunity for people to try new things. That can include trying new foods, meeting new people that may change your life, and just trying a new experience that you may have never ever thought about before. You might meet someone that will take you to a new place that you never knew existed, that you end up loving. With all the good, there is bad. Being so diverse, causes problems too. Some people think other cultures are bad, and that only theirs is good. It causes violence that is not needed at all, arguments, and riots. If people just accepted each other and were open, diversity would be even better than what it is now.
